4 〔どうせ･どっちみち〕

●同じ食べるならおいしいほうがいい. As long as we're going to eat something, we may as well eat something that tastes good.

・同じ食べるなら少しでもおいしいものをと思うのが人情である. It is human nature, since we have to eat anyway, to want to eat food that tastes even slightly better.

・同じ泳ぐならハワイだね. As long as we're going to swim, it may as well be in Hawaii.

・同じ行くなら北海道は夏がいい. As long as we're going to Hokkaidō, we may as well go in summer.

・同じ使うなら金は生かして使え. If you're going to spend money, spend it wisely.

・同じ会社を辞めるにも辞め方というものがある. Even if you're going to quit the company, there's a proper way to quit.
